Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have confirmed an arrest has been made following reports of tragedy chanting throughout Manchester United’s 4-3 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Reports of chants referencing the Hillsborough and Heysel stadium disasters marred the FA Cup quarter-final conflict, with footage later rising on social media of what gave the impression to be additional references to the tragic occasions.
