Poor Things, the Oscar-nominated comedian drama starring Emma Stone, is coming to streaming on Hulu.
In the movie, Stone performs Bella Baxter, who seems like a younger lady however possesses the thoughts of a child. (She was the topic of a mad scientist’s experiment; the Frankenstein-esque physician is performed by Willem Dafoe.) As she discovers the world she goes on a sequence of adventures (and a good variety of amusing sexual exploits, most involving co-star Mark Ruffalo).
In addition to nice performances from Stone, Dafoe, and Ruffalo, the movie options some really surreal visuals due to director Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, The Favourite.)

Poor Things is nominated for 11 Oscars on the upcoming Academy Awards, together with Best Editing, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, Best Cinematograhy, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor (Mark Ruffalo), Best Director, and Best Picture.
While Oppenheimer is basically the favourite for the large awards like Best Picture and Best Director, I’d anticipate Poor Things will choose up a minimum of one or two awards, with Best Makeup and Hairstyling wanting particularly doubtless.) It already received 5 BAFTA awards together with Best Special Visual Effects and Best Actress for Emma Stone. It definitely deserves some recognition — and when you do have a Hulu account already, it’s completely value watching on streaming. (If you don’t have a Hulu subscription already, I suppose that may change the calculus right here.)
Poor Things is scheduled to premiere on Hulu on March 7.
