W. Maxwell Prince & Martin Morazzo‘s Ice Cream Man horror anthology series has been among Image Comics’s extra critically-acclaimed releases of the previous couple of years. Now the writer is bringing the inventive workforce’s first main collaboration again to print, newly remastered and retitled, as Art Brut will debut from Image in December.

The world of effective artwork is falling aside, and solely Art Brut is aware of methods to repair it. Alongside the Bureau of Artistic Integrity, Art Brut follows the titular Arthur Brut the Mad Dreampainter (and his trusty sidekick, Manny the Mannequin) as they dive again into the very work that made him insane…in an effort to save actuality itself from crumbling.
A colourful, gonzo romp via artwork and artwork historical past, Art Brut is equal elements police procedural, hyper-fantasy, and psychological thriller—a veritable Pollock-splatter of comics genres tossed onto one big pulpy canvas!
Colored by Mat Lopes, the sequence was initially printed as a four-issue miniseries by IDW below the title The Electric Sublime. The republished sequence will function new lettering and remastered art work, in addition to new, “Silver-Age style” backup tales starring the titular character.
