More particulars are popping out on the weird scene Sunday following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ loss to the Carolina Panthers that noticed a game official approaching star wideout Mike Evans for what was initially considered an autograph.
The NFL reviewed the incident and in keeping with reviews on Tuesday morning, neither of the 2 officers — Jeff Lamberth nor Tripp Sutter — have been looking for Evans’ autograph.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, here is what actually occurred.
In his ninth season, Evans has made 4 Pro Bowls and leads all Bucs gamers this 12 months in targets (48), receiving yards (454), and is tied in receiving touchdowns with three. He posted 9 receptions for 96 yards within the staff’s Week 7 loss.
Lamberth is in his twentieth season as an NFL official, whereas Sutter is in his fourth season within the league.
