The authentic Battle Action was a 1977 merger of two IPC-published British comics anthology titles, the conflict comedian Battle Picture Weekly (which started in 1975) with the short-lived and extremely controversial Action (begun 1976). The merger helped elevate the brand new title – renamed Battle Action – into a fan favorite.
