“A Black Lady Sketch Show’s” creator Robin Thede and director Bridget Stokes are teaming up once more, this time within the realm of horror-comedy. Deadline reviews that Stokes is about to helm Amazon Studios’ “Killing It,” a zombie pic with a script with Thede.
“Killing It” tells the story of 4 greatest buddies who “attempt to redeem their college reputations by traveling to the SpelHouse homecoming. Their quest for vindication becomes a fight for survival when a zombie apocalypse begins to terrorize the country,” the supply teases.
Thede is among the many mission’s producers.
Thede made historical past as the primary and solely Black girl to create an Emmy-nominated sketch collection with HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” which is written, directed, and toplined completely by Black ladies. She beforehand hosted BET’s “The Rundown with Robin Thede.”
Stokes made her characteristic debut with “Boy Genius,” a 2019 comedy a few 12-year-old prodigy who joins forces with a retiree to research against the law.
Thede has acquired 5 Emmy noms for her work as a author and exec producer on “A Black Lady Sketch Show.” Stokes received an Emmy for directing the trailblazing collection, which is presently in manufacturing on its fourth season.
