Russell Crowe heartbreakingly reveals his puppy has died

Russell Crowe has heartbreakingly revealed that his puppy, Louis the papillion, has tragically died.

The actor broke the unhappy information to followers in a tweet.

“This is Louis the Papillion. 16 months old. Tiny, cheeky, brave. He won my heart,” Crowe wrote on Thursday.

“Unfortunately today, on the second anniversary of my fathers passing, Louis was hit by a truck.

“We tried to get him to the vet, however he died in my arms whereas I used to be telling him how a lot we cherished him.”

Alongside the tweet, Crowe added a picture of the tiny puppy.

Crowe’s father, John Alexander, died in 2021 at the age of 85.

“I arrived again within the bush final night time. Today, though the solar is shining and the torrential rain has abated, this date will endlessly be tinged with disappointment. My expensive outdated man, my stunning dad, probably the most mild of males, has handed away,” Crowe tweeted on March 30, 2021.

The Gladiator actor received an outpouring of support in the comments section about the death of Louis.

“That’s horrendous. Hope he’s enjoying with Murray proper now. Saying a prayer,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Bloody hell, mate. I’m sorry,” another added.

“Well that is simply so heartbreaking,” a third wrote.

The pup, who was only 16 months old, has featured prominently on Crowe’s social media.

Just last December the actor posted a picture of little Louis in a Ralph Lauren polo dog outfit which was matching with Crowe’s own Ralph Lauren Polo shirt.

“I’m by no means a fan of dressing canines up, however, a pal purchased little Louis a ⁦@RalphLauren polo so he can match with dad. I feel the opposite canines on the farm are going to get jealous. Pretty enjoyable,” the actor wrote in a tweet.

Crowe also has a blue heeler puppy.
