As a director, John Krasinski is thought primarily for making bleak horror films; his A Quiet Place sequence have turn into a serious franchise, and turned Krasinski from a likable TV star into a serious mainstream filmmaker. But after all, Krasinski was first recognized for TV and comedy. So his new film, IF, is probably much less of a swerve than it may appear.

The YouTube description of this video mentions that it additionally comes from “the studio trought you Annihilation.” What? That was a disturbing sci-fi horror film. This is (seemingly) an enthralling kids’s movie. Is it secretly a disturbing sci-fi horror film? Do the IFs activate the people in some unspecified time in the future? Do the IFs come from the Shimmer???
