After a little bit of a lull, SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP will probably be assembly this week to resume negotiations involving the continuing strike.
The guild made a thread of posts on Twitter on Saturday to mark the a hundredth day of the strike, which started in July. The tweets introduced that negotiations will resume on Tuesday, October 24 and warned that the approaching days will convey “a lot of interest and potentially noise surrounding our talks,” noting that these watching ought to “not believe anything you hear until it comes from us.”
“SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP will meet for bargaining on Tuesday, October 24 at SAG-AFTRA Plaza. Several executives from AMPTP member companies will be in attendance,” a press release from SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP reads (by way of Deadline).

Why did SAG-AFTRA & AMPTP strike talks break down earlier?
Talks between the union and the AMPTP apparently broke down a bit over per week in the past and had been suspended. According to studies on the matter, talks broke down after the AMPTP declined SAG-AFTRA’s proposals to share 2% of streaming income. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos acknowledged the studies by noting that the transfer was a “bridge too far” for the union.
