Sam Smith made a giant assertion on the 2023 Brit Awards.
The “Unholy” singer, 30, who got here out as non-binary in May 2019, turned heads for his or her extravagant and weird silhouette strolling down the crimson carpet of the annual awards present held on the O2 Arena — only one week after receiving backlash for his or her costume selections for his or her “I’m Not Here to Make Friends” music video.
The outfit — an all-black latex swimsuit custom-made by the London-based trend label Harri — featured excessive pointed shoulders and extensive outwardly pointed thighs, which have been each inflated. Smith accessorized the look with shiny gloves and black high-heeled boots, together with a pearl earring on their proper ear and a stud on the left.

Harri, the designer behind the look, informed WWD that the latest “hate comments” on social media towards Smith and their physique performed a task within the outfit selection.
“Sam was having a lot of hate comments recently after ‘Unholy’ about [their] body image,” Harri stated. “This is my take on celebrating [their] natural form and the beauty of being one’s self. I wanted to create an image which people have never seen Sam in.”
In their newest music video, Smith dons a cream corset look full with pearl chains, sparkly gloves and matching nipple covers, in addition to a Vegas-inspired black showgirl outfit with a big feathered headdress, low-cut corseted satin prime and matching black satin skirt with a thigh-high slit.
