Secret Invasion is now Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s first Rotten show on Rotten Tomatoes, with its finale sitting at 13%. The episode, titled “Home”, brought the Disney+ show’s average down to 57%. That gives it a rotten score, according to Rotten Tomatoes’ metrics.
The official synopsis for Secret Invasion reads: “Set in the present-day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.”
While the cast, including Samuel L. Jackson, Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle, were praised for their series, the bulk of negative reviews mention the fact that it did not live up to its premise as an engaging spy thriller.
