In an annoucement from Mad Cave Studios, it was revealed that Silver Vessels by Steve Orlando and Katie Vecchio is incoming from the writer’s Maverick imprint. The graphic novel is scheduled for publication in March 2024, however you may get your first take a look at the quilt in the present day, right here at The Beat.

Here’s the outline of the graphic novel from the writer:
“A bunch of buddies go on a mission within the Florida Keys to uncover a misplaced treasure and find yourself getting greater than they bargained for.
“What occurs when a bunch of teenagers get collectively on the Florida Keys for an unforgettable summer time of Treasure searching?
“After obsessing over a history lesson at school, Joshua enlists his two best friends to travel to the Florida Keys for the summer to hunt for the treasure of Our Lady of Atocha, a Spanish treasure galleon and the most widely known vessel of a fleet of ships that sank in a hurricane off the Florida Keys in 1622. Staying up, sneaking out, and searching for a legendary buried treasure is just the beginning of the summer of their lives!”
Here’s Orlando’s bio:
“Steve Orlando has written for every major American comic book publisher. His works include the Eisner-Winning LOVE IS LOVE (IDW Publishing), as well as the Eisner-Nominated OUTLAW TERRITORY (Image Comics) and RAINBOW BRIDGE (AfterShock Comics). Outside of comics publishing, Orlando has written for and been featured in HELLO MR as well as NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazine. In animation, he worked with Man of Action Studios on the fourth season of BEN 10.”
And Vecchio’s:
“Katia Vecchio is an Italian comic artist. She studied comics at the International School of Comics in Rome and debuted in 2019 with the one-shot Wild Strawberries at The World’s End (Source Point Press). In 2021 she worked on the graphic novel Painted (Humanoids/Les Humanoïdes Associés).”
