Martha Stewart left her Instagram followers in uproar on Tuesday, after revealing she ‘captured a small iceberg for cocktails’ on her luxurious cruise in Greenland.
The movie star chef, 82, shared a collection of images displaying herself holding up a drink, among the icebergs she noticed on the cruise and the piece of ice the crew used to make the cocktails.
Some of Martha’s 1.9 million followers hit out and commented beneath the publish their concern for local weather change, whereas others known as her ‘tone deaf’.

“End of the first zodiac cruise from @swanhelleniccruises into a very beautiful fjord on the east coast of Greenland. We actually captured a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight,” Martha’s publish was captioned.
She additionally shared an image of some ice in the ocean and captioned it: “Breakfast dairy queen.”
“Martha the ice caps are melting don’t put them in your drink,” one follower commented.

“I generally love Martha and the excesses of her life because [she’s] about beautiful gardens, homes, food, but wealthy white people drinking their iceberg cocktails while the planet is in flames in a bit tone deaf,” one other wrote.
“Martha, leave the icebergs alone!” one other stated.
“Global warming and melting ice caps but we need glacier ice for cocktails? Talk about tone def (sic). Been a fan for years but I’ve seen enough caviar lately as I struggle to buy groceries I’m out.”
One fan nevertheless defended Stewart and stated: “This is normal on those excursions. The ice is already floating, not part of the ice mass, it is slowly melting in the ocean. Every tour company does it. We did it in Alaska and Patagonia. We did NOT disturb the glaciers.”

Stewart is a lifestyle guru, model, talk show host and cookbook author.
However, fans of the icon might have forgotten she was sensationally jailed in 2004 following a celebrity trial that rivals Gwyneth Paltrow and Johnny Depp’s time in court.
In 1999, Stewart was at the height of her career in her early 60s when she became known as America’s first “self-made billionaire ladies”.
But one of the ways Stewart made those billions would soon land her in a federal prison.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the US, she sold 4000 shares of stock in a company based on insider information allegedly passed on from her broker.

The stock soon plummeted and investigators turned their attention to the famous TV personality and homemaker. It was 2001 and the case against Stewart had officially begun.
Initial charges of securities fraud were thrown out, however Stewart was later found guilty on four charges of obstruction of justice and lying to investigators.
In 2004, following a media frenzy and a six-week jury trial, she was convicted on the felony charges and sentenced to five months behind bars. She was also hit with two years of supervised release and ordered to pay a fine of $30,000 (approx. $45,000).
According to the New York Times, Stewart was resilient after facing the long arm of the law.
”I’ll be back. I will be back. I’m used to all kinds of hard work, as you know, and I’m not afraid,” she instructed the publication earlier than her sentencing.
“I’m not afraid whatsoever.”
