The ever-evolving spinoff for Donald Glover’s Lando seems to have advanced but once more. First teased as a TV collection for Disney+ that may have been written by Haunted Mansion filmmaker Justin Simien, a few months in the past it was revealed that Glover himself had assumed the writing duties on the collection, alongside along with his brother Stephen. Now Stephen Glover has revealed that the Lando present is definitely a Lando film.
On the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast, Stephen Glover mentioned of Lando:
It’s not even a present…the thought proper now’s to do a film. Right now, due to the strike, it’s sort of like phone, all the info.
According to Variety, Lucasfilm then confirmed that the Lando TV present had since turn out to be a movie. (Their report doesn’t specify whether or not the movie could be supposed for Disney+ or if it might get a theatrical launch earlier than going to streaming.)

Glover first performed Lando in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, a prequel movie that chronicled Han Solo’s early years, and revealed the origin of his friendships with Chewbacca and Lando, who was beforehand performed within the unique Star Wars trilogy by Billy Dee Williams. (Williams then reprised the position as an older Lando in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.)
Even with this information, it continues to be not completely clear what would be the subsequent Star Wars film to debut in theaters. There are at the very least 4 totally different movie tasks in improvement at Lucasfilm that we learn about, together with a movie directed by Taika Waititi, a prequel in regards to the earliest days of the Jedi by James Mangold, a film by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and a film that may mix the disparate tales from the Disney+ Star Wars exhibits by Dave Filoni. But none of those tasks have confirmed launch dates.
