Some casting information has come in relating to director Jason Reitman’s upcoming historic drama, SNL 1975. Reitman co-wrote the movie along with his writing associate Gil Kenan, who he beforehand wrote Ghostbusters: Afterlife with. The film will comply with the behind the scenes story in the moments main up to SNL‘s first broadcast on October 11, 1975, when a troupe of younger comedians modified TV without end.
Gabriel LaBelle, star of the Steven Spielberg biopic The Fabelmans, will tackle the position of Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels. Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza) has been solid in the movie to play Dick Ebersol, and Rachel Sennott (Bottoms) will play Rosie Shuster.
The full synopsis for the movie reads: “On October 11, 1975, a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television forever. SNL 1975 is the true story of what happened that night behind the scenes in the moments leading up to the first broadcast of SNL. It depicts the chaos and magic of a revolution that almost wasn’t, counting down the minutes in real time to the infamous words, ‘Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!’ The screenplay is based on an extensive series of interviews conducted by Reitman and Kenan with all the living cast, writers and crew.”
I’ve been watching SNL my entire life, and I’m actually wanting ahead to watching this film! I can’t wait to see who they solid as a few of my favourite unique solid members like Gilda Radner, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. SNL 1975 is presently in pre-production, and might be a 12 months or so out from hitting theaters. We will let you already know extra because it develops.
