Earlier this night, The Pokémon Company issued a press launch seemingly addressing the latest dialog surrounding the brand new Steam Early Access launch Palworld and its suspiciously familiar-looking collectible creatures.
“We have received many inquiries regarding another company’s game released in January 2024,” the corporate states. “We have not granted any permission for the use of Pokémon intellectual property or assets in that game. We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to the Pokémon.”
While The Pokémon Company doesn’t explicitly title Palworld or its developer, Pocketpair, in its assertion, we presume it’s investigating the record-setting Steam title based mostly on the desired launch window and latest controversies surrounding the sport’s alleged infringement of Pokémon IP.
“We will continue to cherish and nurture each and every Pokémon and its world, and work to bring the world together through Pokémon in the future,” the corporate states in closing.
