Last week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson received to “‘right the wrong’ back home in Hawaii after all these years” when he returned to his childhood 7-Eleven.
Johnson then explains that when he was 14 years previous, he’d cease at this explicit 7-Eleven each day — for practically a 12 months — and steal a king-size Snickers bar as a pre-workout meal as a result of he could not afford to purchase them. He even edited a couple of images of himself on the time with Snickers bars to provide a greater visible:
“The same clerk was there every day and always just turned her head and never busted me,” he reveals. Then, in 1987, the Rock and his household had been evicted from their house and left Hawaii, and the “damn chocolate demon,” as he calls it, has been “gnawing at [him] for decades.”
So now, 35 years later, the Rock returned to his childhood 7-Eleven and acquired each Snickers bar on the shelf and paid for any gadgets different prospects within the retailer had been shopping for.
BK, the 7-Eleven clerk, graciously counted each Snickers bar and rang all of it up — for those who’ve ever labored retail, you understand what a ache that may be — earlier than the Rock revealed he was leaving the Snickers bars there for others who may have one.
“If somebody looks like they’re stealing Snickers,” the Rock tells BK, “give them these so they don’t steal it.”
As he leaves the shop, the Rock says, “After decades of me wanting to come back home to 7-Eleven and try and make good, that felt really, really good.”
And he ends the caption of the video by writing, “We can’t change the past and some of the dumb stuff we may have done, but every once in a while we can add a little redeeming grace note to that situation — and maybe put a big smile on some strangers’ faces.”
Needless to say, a majority of individuals had been moved by his actions, and his video now has 1.7M likes and virtually 20K feedback.
