Things in the MCU have modified lots since Marvel Studios launched Avengers: Endgame, which closed out the Infinity Saga. I think that the type of story that unfolded in the phases that we worked on [was] a very specific kind of story that wrapped itself up in those phases and now it’s time for a new story, and I think that’s the direction that Marvel’s headed in. They’re telling you a very different story, a very new story and I think the audience just needs to be patient with the redirection because you can’t keep telling the same story over and over or you lose the audience.”
Russo went on to speak about the large swings that Marvel is taking:
“I think they’re taking some very big swings and they’re playing around with the tone and they’re championing diversity as much as anyone in the storytelling space right now and all of these things are huge wins for large-scale storytelling.”
I understand what he’s saying, I’m fine with the direction of the story that is involving Kang the Conqueror, but the quality of the films that tell that story could definitely be better. That script for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quntimania was kind of a mess.
Marvel goes to be doing a little bold and complex storytelling over the subsequent few years. They are enjoying with time journey and alternate universes, so that they’ve acquired to inform sturdy tales with nice scripts that make sense in order that they will successfully pull it off.
