They Hate Change are a DIY rap duo who’ve spent the previous couple of years opening for Toro y Moi, Bartees Strange, and Shame. Their nice 2022 LP, Finally New, turned their breakthrough, and now they’re again with an EP known as Wish You Were Here…
Out Jan. 26 by way of Jagjaguwar, the EP was recorded over the previous yr whereas the Tampa Bay outfit have been on the highway. It marks their first time collaborating with outdoors producers and contains the dauntless single “stunt (when i see u),” which got here out in July.

“Our first year of touring consisted of seven tours, multiple weeklong stints in single cities, a gang of festivals, and about two months total (nonconsecutive) spent at home in Florida,” they are saying. “Along with this time interval got here a bunch of interviews, picture shoots, periods, new mates, impeccable dinners, first rate breakfasts (huge up Greggs), in addition to literal lots of of missed calls, texts, DMs, and emails, as we traveled throughout the water and again 3 times over.
“No manager to hold down our inbox, no tour manager to book our flights and hotels (if we had a hotel!), no front-of-house sound tech traveling with us to soundcheck before the show, nobody to set up and sell our merch for us after the show, and nobody to tell us how to get to the next city safely,” they proceed. “Just us. These are some of the songs we made with our old and new friends in the middle of all this.”
