They Would Beat Me Simply Because I Was Fela's Son

Legendary singer, Femi Kuti has opened up on among the travails he confronted whereas rising up.

Femi, who’s the primary son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, defined in a current interview that a few of his academics hated him for being the son of the Afrobeat star.

The saxophonist mentioned that whereas he anticipated to be handled pretty, some academics would move aggression on to him due to their dislike for Fela.

Femi defined that being at school was fairly miserable for him as academics who had a vendetta towards his father would beat him extra just because he was a blood relation of Fela.

He mentioned:

“School was a really miserable time for me since you had the academics that enjoyed him and academics that didn’t like him so if I get into hassle with the academics that didn’t like Fela they’d beat me extra as a result of they don’t like my father.

“I later got to know they had a vendetta against my father. They have rich children in the same school and they didn’t like me because I was Fela’s son, they say your father smokes Indian hemp and I also tell them their father is a slave.”
