The synopsis for the movie reads: “In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures… if they can all survive a deadly present.”
Madame Web additionally stars Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight), and Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), alongside with Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps (The Upshaws), and Adam Scott (Severance).
Madame Web is being directed by S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) from a screenplay written by Morbius scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Madame Web was created by author Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. in 1980. Madame Web is a blind psychic who has turn out to be a significant participant in the world of Spider-Man as a result of her ties to “The Great Web,” a multiversal assemble that ties all “Spider” characters collectively throughout the multiverse.
The film can be launched in theaters on February 14th.
