HBO has launched a brand new trailer for the upcoming gritty music trade drama sequence The Idol, starring Lily-Rose Depp and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. The sequence tells the story of the rise of a brand new megalomanic pop star.
The trailer opens with the query of when the music trade noticed “the last truly-f**king-nasty, nasty pop-girl,” which is then adopted by Britney Spears’ tune “Gimme More.”
Co-created by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, Tesfaye, and Reza Fahim, “The Idol is set against the backdrop of the music industry in Los Angeles. It follows Rose Depp’s Jocelyn, a fame-hungry young woman looking to take over the entertainment industry. On her journey, she meets Tedros, “a powerful, sex-obsessed cult leader,” who’s performed by The Weekend. Jocelyn’s profession then takes off.
The solid additionally contains Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennot, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey, and Hank Azaria.
According to a report from Rolling Stone, the manufacturing of this sequence had “gone wildly, disgustingly off the rails.” Sources say that after a change in administrators with Levinson taking on for Amy Seimetz there was a “disturbing” flip, creating an insane working atmosphere. But, the claims had been refuted by members of the solid.
