Winter is coming. A trailer for the second season of “Yellowjackets” has dropped, and after barely surviving the summer season, the airplane crash survivors at the heart of the present must cope with plummeting temperatures and snow in the wilderness. But the climate is only one stressor amongst many. “The whole time, there was some darkness out there,” says Natalie (Juliette Lewis).
Set to a Florence + The Machine cowl of No Doubt’s “Just a Girl,” the spot means that the Yellowjackets didn’t go away the darkness behind in the wilderness. They introduced it again with them, and a long time later, they’re nonetheless wrestling with it.
Shauna (Melanie Lynksey) is coping with the aftermath of killing her lover. “We were careful, right?” she asks her accomplices. Taissa (Tawny Cypress) is seeing issues and satisfied she’s shedding her thoughts.
“Yellowjackets’” first season obtained seven Emmy nominations, together with excellent drama collection and a directing nod for Karyn Kusama.
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. “Yellowjackets” returns March 24 on Showtime. Check out the trailer to catch a glimpse of recent solid member Lauren Ambrose.
