Tyler Treese: Travis, so Eddie Murphy is enjoying your dad, you even bought your IG bio as “Eddie Murphy’s son.” I can’t think about getting it higher than that. How surreal was that casting and having Eddie Murphy seek advice from you as his son?
Travis Bennett: It was superb. It’s like a childhood dream to work with these folks. So I believe for me it was taking all of it in and making an attempt to be as current as attainable, which is totally unimaginable since you’re nervous and anxious the entire time and making an attempt to not mess up. But it was an expertise that I’ll by no means have the ability to get once more. Also, it was like my first large film, to me. I’ve executed some films, however that is like the primary one which I felt like such a household was created right here, and I really feel like such part of it.
Sam, you’re nice all through the film and your camaraderie with Jonah Hill is simply implausible. How pure was that chemistry? Talk me by way of working with Jonah?
Sam Jay: It was very pure. I’m an enormous fan of Jonah and so it was like, the primary day we had been doing these first podcast scenes, in between, I used to be simply asking him like, straight-up fan questions. I used to be like, “Dog, I need to ask you this stuff. I’m sorry.” I’m like, “What was your favorite role that you ever did?” And like, “What was this?” He was cool, simply chill. Answering me like we had been associates simply having a dialog. So that basically simply translated coming cross-screen once we had been moving into the position. So it was tremendous pure.
Travis, such as you talked about, the solid on this film is simply stacked. As you’ve been transitioning into an actor, how priceless was it being with all these nice stars and skills and attending to be taught immediately from them?
Travis Bennett: Oh, it’s insanely priceless. It’s like getting on a basketball workforce with a bunch of veterans and so they’re simply displaying you the ropes. So for me, I really feel like, particularly early in my profession to expertise this so early on, has been superb. So many issues I discovered simply, I don’t know, you’ll count on a few of these folks to have egos, however they don’t have them, and so they’re simply there to do a superb job and have enjoyable. And I believe that was what actually introduced me in, is the playfulness of all people on the solid, particularly those with a lot expertise in comparison with me.
Sam, the podcast scenes are simply so hilarious. Was any of that simply you two riffing and going off with each other?
Sam Jay: Yeah, plenty of it was simply riffs and stuff. They gave us plenty of room to play, get your arms on it, like, ‘Hey, have fun with it, make your own.’ And so we riffed a bunch of stuff. We riffed, we riffed quite a bit
Travis, the marriage scene on the finish appeared like such a blast with all people partying. How is filming that? Are you even appearing or are simply having enjoyable? How does that go?
Travis Bennett: Somewhere in between. You’re having enjoyable and also you understand that you just’re capturing a scene after which it was sizzling as hell in that room. I can’t lie, that was like the most popular bodily room I had ever been in. But we had a good time and particularly for me, it was the top of filming for me. So it was an effective way to finish it with the large second with all people.
