Showtime Sports has given a greenlight to , a five-part documentary sequence narrated and government produced by Trevor Noah, from Gotham Chopra’s Religion of Sports, Day Zero Productions and Mainstay Entertainment. The sequence’ first episode will premiere December 1 at 8 PM on Showtime, with episodes debuting weekly for 5 weeks. The complete sequence can be out there for streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers on the day of premiere.
The five-part sequence focuses on a unique nation in every episode — Brazil, US, UK, France, and Qatar — and the way soccer groups and followers in that nation face world points by the game. The sequence tackles ladies’s rights, earnings inequality, labor rights, psychological well being, racism, nationalism and LGBTQ+ rights.
The sequence is produced by Gotham Chopra’s Religion of Sports in affiliation with Day Zero Productions and Mainstay Entertainment.
“This may be the most important project we’ve ever produced,” Chopra mentioned. “Not just because we got to collaborate with Trevor Noah and a team of brilliant creatives, but also because this show is so on brand for us. Sports – and in this case specifically football/soccer – is a language through which we get to explore some of the most critical issues of our time. That’s what we do at Religion of Sports. Also – in case you missed it – we got to work with Trevor Noah!!”
