Damini Ogulu, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer higher referred to as Burna Boy, has shared a captivating encounter he had with US rapper J. Cole throughout a studio session. He revealed that J. Cole informed him he’s the embodiment of the late hip-hop icon, Tupac Shakur, within the African context.
Burna Boy admitted that he was initially perplexed by J. Cole’s assertion, as he couldn’t fairly grasp who Cole was referring to. However, it quickly turned obvious that J. Cole was truly addressing him.
Burna Boy made this intriguing revelation whereas collaborating as a visitor on the most recent episode of the Rap Radar Podcast, hosted by Elliott Wilson.
He mentioned:-
“I don’t actually know the dynamics behind how all the pieces occurred, however by some means I find yourself within the studio with J. Cole and a bunch of basketball gamers tall as hell. Before [recording] any music, we’re all simply speaking about actual stuff, about life and all the pieces.
“For me, I don’t actually prefer to have conversations with folks that don’t dwell with me. You know, I don’t have lengthy conversations like that. So, I discovered myself simply going off.
“And before we start [recording], he [J. Cole] just goes, ‘Bro, this ngga is Tupac. And then I looked around to see who he’s talking about. It’s me he’s talking about. He’s like, this ngga is like Tupac reincarnated in Africa.”
