The Police in Lagos, on Tuesday, arraigned a 30-year-old tailor, Peter Emmanuel, earlier than a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing three cell telephones, valued at N320,000.
Emmanuel, who resides at Bar Beach Police Barracks, is dealing with a two-count cost of conspiracy and stealing, to which he, nevertheless, pleaded not responsible.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Samuel Ishola, knowledgeable the courtroom that the defendant dedicated the offences, with two different individuals nonetheless at giant, on Jan. 28 at Shop 8, Bar Beach Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Ishola mentioned that the defendant stole two iPhone 7 telephones, valued at N85,000 every and an iPhone 8, valued at N150,000 from the store of the complainant, Chizoba Orunna.
He mentioned that the defendant sneaked into the store and stole the cell telephones whereas they have been stored to be charged.
“It was later discovered through a CCTV camera that it was the defendant who stole the phones,” the prosecutor mentioned.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 287 and 411of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Section 287 stipulates three-year jail time period for stealing, whereas Section 411 gives two years for conspiracy.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr A.A. Paul, granted the defendant bail within the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum.
