Paramore is again!
After a five-year hiatus from releasing new music, the Nashville-based trio have returned with “This Is Why,” the lead single and title observe of their new album out Feb. 10 by way of Atlantic Records.
Accompanying the psychedelic new music is a surprising, retro-inspired video directed by Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates. Check out the video beneath.
Speaking concerning the music video collaboration with Yates, vocalist Hayley Williams stated in a press launch, “It was so rad working with Brendan. I’ve known the Turnstile guys for a little while and was so psyched to have our worlds collide in this way. There’s a cool kinship between the way our bands do things….” Williams also teased the potential for the two bands to join forces down the line adding, “Hopefully, we will get to play shows with them at some point.”
According to Williams, “This Is Why” was a well timed and needed alternative for the title observe of the album: “It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last three or four years. You’d think after a global pandemic of fucking biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something.”
Prior to the release of their upcoming sixth studio, Paramore are set to embark on an intimate run of shows in choose cities, providing followers a uncommon alternative to witness the band and not using a conventional enviornment setting. Additionally, Paramore will headline this 12 months’s When We Were Young Festival alongside scene staples My Chemical Romance and Avril Lavigne.
