The king of parody songs instructed ComicBook.com there have been a couple of he knew he could not omit of his totally-accurate life story.
The Emmy-nominated movie Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, initially launched completely on The Roku Channel, is out on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra UHD immediately. The movie, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as “Weird Al” Yankovic, parodies the tropes of biopic motion pictures, making a hilariously fictionalized model of Yankovic’s life. But, as with all music biopics, the filmmakers — right here director Eric Appel in session with Yankovic, who serves as a author and producer — needed to boil down the artist’s complete library right into a handful of songs that they may squeeze into the film’s runtime. In the case of Yankovic, there have been another wrinkles, too — like paying for clearances to songs that he parodied.

And we were a fairly low budget movie, and we couldn’t afford anything that wasn’t fairly cheap.”
Yankovic had some assist narrowing down the scope, just because the film technically ends in 1985. That means most songs — aside from “Amish Paradise,” which was included towards the very finish of the film — needed to be based mostly on songs Yankovic made within the early- to mid-Nineteen Eighties.
