Wolfgang Van Halen mentioned Van Halen’s ultimate album, A Different Kind of Truth, was absent from streaming websites as a result of David Lee Roth wouldn’t permit its return.
According to Eddie Van Halen’s son, the singer has an issue with the 2012 launch, which featured Wolfgang changing founding bassist Michael Anthony, and so when the newest offers expired he wouldn’t give permission to resume them.
“The contract ran out on putting it up on streaming services,” Van Halen instructed Eddie Trunk on a current episode of SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk. “So we’ve been working on getting it back – but there are some people involved who do not like that record and are not making it easy to get it back up.”

At first he appeared reluctant to offer extra particulars, however Trunk obtained affirmation when he requested if the difficulty arose with somebody “involved in the record” and somebody who was “commonly… known by three initials” – seeming to counsel Roth.
“Probably,” Van Halen mentioned. “I mean, yeah, you can put it together. I hate to say it – because people will think I’m making stuff up – but it’s like, man, I’d love to have the record back up there, but he doesn’t like it and he’s not working with us to get it back up there.” He added: “So I hope people who like it have a physical version of it!”

He went on to say that he didn’t perceive why “things are so difficult” in the case of negotiating with Roth over Van Halen initiatives, however that it added to his appreciation of working along with his personal band, Mammoth WVH. “I think throughout my time in Van Halen, you learn things that you wanna do and you wanna apply, and then you also learn things that you don’t wanna apply,” he mirrored.
