Just days earlier than the present is about to premiere on Disney+, Marvel has reportedly “fired” X-Men ’97’ creator Beau DeMayo.
Thus far, neither Marvel nor DeMayo have commented on the information. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Marvel and DeMayo suddenly parted ways” early final week.
“His company email was deactivated and cast and crew were informed he was no longer on the project,” they added. “DeMayo’s Instagram account, once a source for X-Men updates, was deleted. No reason for the firing was given.”
The new sequence is a long-anticipated continuation of the X-Men: The Animated Series of the Nineties, which helped introduce a complete era of followers to X-Men, and is even credited with encouraging Fox to start its live-action X-Men film franchise.

When Marvel acquired the X-Men movie and TV license from Fox, one in all their first strikes was to start work on this animated sequence. They have additionally integrated references to the previous X-Men present — like its well-known theme music — into Marvel films like Doctor Strange within the Multiverse of Madness.
The new present picks up the place the previous one left off, and contains a number of members of the unique X-Men animated voice solid.
X-Men ’97 was first introduced in November of 2021; DeMayo has been with the present since then. In interviews, he had spoken about how he had been a fan of the X-Men animated sequence rising up. DeMayo has beforehand labored on Marvel’s Moon Knight sequence and contributed drafts to their Blade reboot as nicely.
X-Men ’97 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 20.
